Leukocytic Elastase and its Inhibition in Some Tissues of the Oral Cavity

The authors assessed in tissues taken from the oral cavity the activity of leukocytic elastase (LE) using an original substrate (Suc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Ala-MCU). Tissue specimens with a measurable LE activity were incubated with the inhibitor of Suc-Lys(Lau-Ala)-Ala-Ala-Pro-NHiBu which has a significant inhibitory activity in tissues with different grades of inflammation.
