Fibrous Dysplasia in a Child Patient Treated with Bisphosphonates

The main property of bisphosphonates is inhibition of maturation and migration of osteoclasts resulting in decrease bone resorption. This property has been often used in the therapy of bone diseases such as osteoporosis, Paget's disease, or as a part of multiple myeloma or osteolytic metastases treatment.The authors describe the application of the property of bisphosphonates to inhibit bone resorption in the therapy of fibrous dysplasia of lower jaw in a 15-year girl. Odontogenic Fibroma

In their work, the authors have addressed the matter of odontogenic fibroma.In the first section, they have been interested in the characteristics, diagnostics and treatment of odontogenic fibroma. In the second section, odontogenic fibroma involving the mandible in a case of a 25-year-old man, managed in the 1st Clinic of Dentistry in Kosice, is described. There was a swelling of the left cheek and bone-hard bulging was detected on palpation but the patient had not complained of the problems. The tumor was removed under general anesthesia and then examined histopathologically. There was no sign of recurrence six months after the operation.

Fluoride Content in Instant Milk Formulas available in the Czech Republic

The aim of the study was to estimate the contribution of instant milk formulas (IMFs) manufactured by Nutricia, Nestlé and Hero available at local food market to the fluoride intake of infants in the Czech Republic. Fluoride content in IMFs dissolved in recommended bottled waters for infants has been determined in order to estimate the background fluoride intake when recommending fluoride supplementation. Totally 8 IMFs brands for children aged 1-3 months, 8 for 4-10 months and 6 for >10-months were involved. Effect of Arthrocentesis in the Therapy of Temporomandibular Joint

Arthrocentesis of temporomandibular joint is a procedure in which two syringe needles are inserted into intrarticular space to make a lavage removing adhesions. The Treatment of a Patient with Type 1 Diabetes and Allergy to Titanium Dental Implants from Zircon Oxide Ceramics

The objective of the work was to describe an unusual case report of a patient with Type 1 diabetes, who eliminated the primarily stable titanium implants (within the time lapse of several weeks after lege artis - performed operation) due to multiple allergy to metals and was later treated with ceramic implants on the basis of zirconium oxide (ZrO₂). Later on the patient was treated with immediate fixed splint composite bridge.
