Alimentary Fluoride Intake in Children at the Age of 4 to 5 Years

Circadian alimentary intake of fluoride was estimated in the group of 18 children of the mean age of 4.75 years and of 20.69 kg body weight by means of the double plate method in two stages within 6 months. Parents were asked to record the 24 hrs diary and collect duplicated portions of food and beverages taken in this time interval by children. Pooled samples of food and beverages were weighed and samples of solid food were homogenized. The HEALTH TEETH Program is a complex global educational program for the care of dental health which has been executed at elementary schools for 10 years. All elementary schools in the Czech Republic received the educational HEALTH TEETH Program free of charge in 2000 for the first time. Orthodontic Treatment of a Patient with Facial Cleft (Part 1)

The aim of therapy in patients affected with a cleft in orofacial region is a functional and aesthetic rehabilitation of the soft tissues of the face, defect of the jaw and dentition. The complex therapy is related to the type and extent of the defect, postnatal development and general health of the affected child and requires participation of a team of specialists, while the interdisciplinary care is concentrated to specialized cleft centers.
