The authors discuss the prosthetic treatment of defective dentition with so-called traumatic occlusion in a 49-year-old patient. By means of the Correct Bite System of diagnostic corrective and mounting plates according to Schreinemaker reconstruction of the occlusion plane was made. The prosthetic sanation of the teeth was made first in the upper jaw by provisional bridges, modelled in such a way that the tubercles touched the edges of the mounting plate. Then provisional bridges were made in the lower jaw and articulated against the upper provisional prostheses. After an adaptation period the latter were replaced by fixed bridges. The authors discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the selected method and compare it with other possibilities of occlusion therapy.
