Introduction and aim: The standard material used for osteosynthesis of the facial skeleton is the titan and its compounds. One of the disadvantages of the conventional material is the need for its extraction in indicated cases. Degradable material offer a solution to the situation. In the past, materials based on polylactic or polyglycolic acid were used for these purposes. It clinically proved to be unsatisfactory. The modern solution is the use of biodegradable metal alloys. The authors present original research on the degradation of metal materials based on magnesium and zinc on the biomodels. Materials and methods: A total of...

Aim of study: The study was focused on the decrease of the depth of periodontal pockets and to obtain the information about depth of pockets after this type of treatment. Another result was to have information if there are recessions of soft tissues and the grade of recessions. Also the attachement level was evaluated before and one year after treatment. Method: 21 patients were includuded to the study, all of them passed through inicial phase, collaboration was on very good level. Age between 21-53 yers. Set of patients was composed by eight men and 13 women. For further treatment of 39 teeth with pocket depth ≥ 5 mm after inicial...

Čes. stomatol. Prakt. zub. lék. (Czech Dental Journal) 2017; 117(4): 49-54 | DOI: 10.51479/cspzl.2017.023

Background: In this paper the authors describe parallelly occurring lesions on the surface of the tongue. Fissures at the surface of the tongue and lingua geographica also belong to this group. These nosological units can be manifested together or separately. The authors report a possible presence of a pathological plaque layer and also a secondary manifestation of some systematic diseases. The other part is a guide to examination and evaluation of tongue fissures and lingua geographica. The described lesions have a significant importance in oral health evaluation.

Čes. stomatol. Prakt. zub. lék. (Czech Dental Journal) 2017; 117(4): 85-89 | DOI: 10.51479/cspzl.2017.015

Introduction: The natal teeth are defined as the presence of teeth in oral cavity at birth, whereas those that erupt within the neonatal period are called neonatal teeth. The natal or neonatal teeth may cause problems in feeding, risk of aspiration or swallowing and irritation of infant's sublingual frenum. Very rare complication following extraction or spontaneous exfoliation of natal/neonatal teeth is continuous dentin and cementum formation by the remaining dental papilla and epithelial Hertwig's sheath. This condition is connected with eruption of "tooth-like structure". The term "residual natal/neonatal tooth" for this clinical situation...
