Stomatitis in Patients after Autologous Transplantation of Haematopoietic Stem Cells

The authors investigated in a prospective study 70 patients with haematooncological diseases, who had an autologous transplantation of haematopoietic stem cells, the effectivity of previous defocization. 70 % of the patient suffered from stomatitis. The radicality of dental treatment was sufficient to prevent the development of complications in the oral cavity. Stomatitis lasted on average one week and correlated with the period of severe neutropenia.
