Preventive Analgetic Pharmacotherapy in Dentoalveolar Operations - Yes or No?
- Klinika ústní, čelistní a obličejové chirurgie LF UP, Olomouc, přednosta prof. MUDr. J. Pazdera, CSc.
The clinical study is focused on the problem of postoperative analgesia in dentoalveolar surgery. The group comprises 90 patients where surgical extraction of impacted third lower molars was performed. Based on subjective data of the patients the authors evaluate the analgetic effect of Aulin and Algifen and the intensity of subjective complaints of a controlgroup of patients who were not given any analgetics after operation. The results of the study are in favour of Aulin which not only effectively suppressed postoperative pain but proved useful also as prophylaxis of inflammatory complications for healing of the extraction wound.
Keywords: postoperative pain; analgetics; non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs; Algifen; Aulin
