In great number of cases, osteodistraction replaces transfer of bone implants when adjusting bone defects of the alveolus. This above method is more efficient than augmentation with nonresorbable materials. Though we did a limited number of vertical distractions of mandible bone defects by now, the bone volume acquired by this method on the spot of the defect made it possible to us either to integrate dental implants or to create a good denturebearing area after adjusting soft tissues.
