Stomatitis in Patients after Autologous Transplantation of Haematopoietic Stem Cells

The authors investigated in a prospective study 70 patients with haematooncological diseases, who had an autologous transplantation of haematopoietic stem cells, the effectivity of previous defocization. 70 % of the patient suffered from stomatitis. The radicality of dental treatment was sufficient to prevent the development of complications in the oral cavity. Stomatitis lasted on average one week and correlated with the period of severe neutropenia.
Perio-endo Lesions, their Clasification and Manifestations

The paper discusses the reasons of dissemination of bacteria and their toxic products between the pulp and the periodontal ligament and brings up the relationship of endodontic and periodontic lesions. The author reports the classification of perio-endo lesions and possibilities of their therapy.
Osteodistraction of the Mandible: Preliminary Report

Distraction osteogenesis is a very effective method for prolongation of a hypo-plastic mandible. The authors present a report on the treatment of five children with this defect where a total of six distractions was made. The occlusion relations in these patients and the aesthetic appearance improved. With regard to the short period which has elapsed since treatment (maximum 1.5 years) these results must be considered preliminary.
Treatment of Sensitive Cervical Portions of Teeth by a Combination of Dermalaser and Fluoride

The objective of the work was to verify the therapeutic effect of sensitive cervicalportions of teeth by a combination of a low efficiency Dermalaser and local application of fluoride Elmex fluid. During six sessions the authors investigated the sensitivity to cold and tactile sensitivity of exposed cervical dentin in 256 teeth after provocation, and the desensitizingeffects of the applied treatment were evaluated.
