Introduction: The occurrence of the supernumerary teeth in the patient's dentition is relatively frequent abnormality, which refers to the teeth formation above the normal number. The supernumerary teeth formation can be part of a complex genetic syndromic disorder or deals with "random" presence, which usually requires certain familiar predisposition. Mesiodens can cause many complications (most often of an orthodontic character - such as permanent teeth retention, anomalous position etc.). The diagnosis is, in the most cases, stated during physical or x-ray (CT) examination. During the therapy, the most essential issue, is the timing of the...

What is more, the results are influenced by the quality of the file, methods applied during the research and definitions of particular terms. The aim of our study was to determine the prevalence of agenesis of teeth except third molars in students of dentistry program at Palacký University in Olomouc, to compare the frequency in women and men, to set the...

AIM: Recently there has been a great progress in three-dimensional (3D) technologies in field of medicine. Dentistry and maxillofacial surgery haven't been exceptions. Methods such as model surgery or cephalometric methods of prediction (2D prediction) including video imaging are considered as "gold standards" in orthognathic surgery. However, these techniques, despite being routine part of the diagnosis and treatment planning process, have their limitations. 3D environment adds the third dimension to planning, which moves planning closer to reality and gives us more information for diagnosing a wider range of dentofacial anomalies. Furthermore,...
