Objectives: By adolescent patients we can often meet with traumatic tooth loss and anodontia. Dental care of adolescent patients without own teeth, is not easy. Nowadays we use for reconstruction of teeth especially dental implants. Anthropological age determination for implant insertion is important and prosthodontic methods can be often applied only after multidisciplinary therapy. The successful rehabilitation of the patient with dental implants depends on correct indication, optimal implant insertion, functional and psychosocial adaptation. Quality of life is significantly influenced by satisfaction or dissatisfaction with dental treatment.The...

Čes. stomatol. Prakt. zub. lék. (Czech Dental Journal) 2015; 115(4): 82-88 | DOI: 10.51479/cspzl.2015.015
Introduction and aims: Poor dental health and chronic periodontitis may be an independent risk factor for pregnancy or delivery complications. The aim of this study was to investigate and compare dental health status of pregnant women with risk and physiologic pregnancy and of low-birth-weight baby's mothers. Materials and methods: The study included 81 pregnant women in the third trimester (group A), 30 mothers (child birth weight ≤ 1500 g) (group B) and 61 women with a physiologic pregnancy (group C).The age, general health status, DMFT, CPI, PBI indices and the need of dental treatment have been recorded in all women. Results:...

Čes. stomatol. Prakt. zub. lék. (Czech Dental Journal) 2015; 115(4): 89-97 | DOI: 10.51479/cspzl.2015.016
Introduction and aim of study: Genetic predispositions play an important role in the etiopathogenesis of periodontal diseases (CP) and diabetes mellitus (DM). Recent studies have also proven a bidirectional interrelationship between these conditions. The immunoregulatory factors, including signal peptides, so called cytokines, are considered as candidate genes for both of these diseases. The aim of our study was to analyse polymorphisms in selected cytokines, namely in the interleukin-1 (IL-1) gene cluster and IL-6 gene, in patients with CP and with/without DM and compare them with the healthy population. Methods:...
Factors which Have an Influence on Labial Inclination of Lower Incisors During Expansion Therapy with Fixed Appliance

Čes. stomatol. Prakt. zub. lék. (Czech Dental Journal) 2015; 115(4): 98-106 | DOI: 10.51479/cspzl.2015.017
Introduction and objective: The expansion therapy is one of the methods for treatment of orthodontic anomalies. Proclination of lower incisors labially is often used to treat mild or medium serious crowding of Angle class I, to treat malocclusion of Angle Class II, division 1 and 2 type and also for treatment skeletal Class III by decompensation of position of lower incisors before orthognatic surgery. Labial inclination of lower incisors causes lengthening of lower dental arch. Excessive anterior inclination of lower incisors is generally considered as a highly risk movement potentially causing instability of orthodontic treatment outcomes...
