Introduction and aim: In the case of deep carious lesions, the preference for the selective excavation method has been increasing. It can be assumed that a small number of microorganisms persist in the soft dentin near the dental pulp. For this reason, it is recommendable to use a filling material with an antimicrobial effect. Introduction and aim: The presence of an additional tooth or odontogenic structure in the primary or permanent dentition is a dental anomaly, known as a supernumerary tooth or hyperdontia. This literature review aims to summarise the available information regarding the aetiology, prevalence, classification, complications, diagnosis, and treatment of supernumerary teeth.
