The authors draw attention to the advantages of a spiral CT apparatus in three-dimensional reconstruction of the structures of the facial skeleton. They demonstrate the advantages of the method on two patients with isolated retromarginal fracture of the orbitalfloor. In both instances high standard CT examination and three-dimensional imaging of the affected part of the skeleton served as the basis for therapeutic deliberations. In the conclusion the authors outline the possible use of high standard diagnostic equipment in future.
