In the Czech Republic the fluoride tablet supplements were introduced as earlyas in the 1968. They were used on a nation-wide basis, in those regions where drinking water fluoridation had not been implemented. In the 1990s the preventive program based on fluoridetablets was stopped. Regarding the current situation, this preventive measure is again being recommended by professional organizations of both pediatricians and pediatric dentists, but under adjusted dosage pattern. The aim of this paper is to present the latest information on fluoride tablet supplements and the dosage pattern and indications thereof. This article presents the dosage schemethat has been lately proposed by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry. Regarding the fact, that the latest research indicates a globally increasing intake of fluorides from food and other sources, on the recommendation of the Czech Association of Pediatric Dentistry the adjustments of fluoride tablets dosage scheme have been implemented in the Czech Republic too.
