MTA (mineral trioxide aggregate) is currently considered to be the most suitable root canal filling material, capable to create a hermetic barrier between the tooth and the surrounding tissues. MTA is being recommended particularly for the technique of direct pulpcapping in the event of injury, in case of vital dental pulp amputation, for the one-visit apexification procedure, for the retrograde root canal filling, in case of root fractures and inendodontic treatment of root canal perforations caused during treatment or due to the resorption process.
