Dental implantology is a rapidly developing branch of dentistry and dentoalveolarsurgery. There are many new treatment methods currently appearing which can widen the indications of intraosseous implants, internal sinus floor elevation being one of them. This method makes it possible to augment the volume of a lost maxillary alveolar bone in the area of a maxillary sinus, thus enabling dental implants to be inserted. We have used this methodin 22 patients, in whom we have inserted 48 implants with very good results. The complicationsduring the healing phase due to the wound infection were observed only in one patient. These experiences persuade us that this method is very gentle and perspective.
