The author draws attention to the possibilities to substitute the defect after resected alveolar processes of maxilla in a 19-year boy. The substitution of the defect was performed by means of a solid implant from the BAS-0 material as a part of the Research TaskIGA NK6065-3/2000. The substitution of a resected part of maxilla is a considerable therapeutic problem. Patients undergoing these kinds of interventions have been so far subsequently treated with post-resection prostheses (obturators). Such treatment brings about in some, especially young, patients the need to prepare these special prostheses repeatedly. In young patients, however, we makeevery effort of a solution which would return the shape and original function of the affected jaw. In our communication the author presents one of possible approached, which might be used in the future reconstruction procedures.
