Leakage Studies Reconsidered. A Review

Leakage studies are used for evaluation of the sealing quality of fillings. Thismethod is very popular due to its technical simplicity and inexpesivity. However, the finalextent of dye penetration is influenced by a number of factors. Oral Manifestation of Acute Haemoblastosis

The authors present two patients from the out-patient department of their clinic where acute haemoblastosis was associated with pathological changes of tissues in the oralcavity. In the first case the clinical manifestation was acute myeloid leukaemia complicated byeruption of the lower third molars , in the second patient acute periodontitis and gingivitis with subsequent sequestering ostitits of the alveolar process of the mandible. In this context the authors draw attention to the possible use of systemic enzyme therapy in adjuvant treatment of this complication.

Evaluation of the Osseointegration of Inserted Enosseal One-phase Blades Two Years after Implantation

Succession rate of the osseointegration inserted one-phase titanium implants was evaluated two years after implantation at grant project IGA MZ CR No. 4701-3. We used X-ray and radiovisiographic investigations. 297 implants were evaluated and unserted to 218 patients. Radiovisiographic investigations look like truthful and objective. Recommendation was documented for clinical useful of one-phase titanium blades, but becomed evidence necessary exactly observe all rules insertion of the implants.

Oral Health in a Group of Subjects with Mental Defects and Combined Defects in the Czech Republic

In 2000 the oral health of 455 randomly selected subjects with mental and combined defects living in social welfare institutes or attending day- or week-stay homes were investigated. The mean age of the group was 24.6 years. During dental examination the cariosity and state of teeth were recorded by means of the DMF index, the state of dental hygieneby means of DI-OHI, affection of the gingiva was expressed by the PMA index, orthodonticanomalies were evaluated according to WHO criteria. Oral Health of 18-year-old Menand Women in the Czech Republic in 2000

Oral health survey of 18-yr-olds was conducted in 2000 in the sample of 357 recruits and in the group of 318 women. Indicators of oral health were compared with the results of previous surveys in 1987 and 1995 and with the WHO goals for the year 2000. The resultsrevealed the significant decline of the caries experience, of the mean count of D and F teeth and the improvement of periodontal status in women when compared with 1987. Preventive Oral Health Programme in a Day Home for the Mentally Sick

The author evaluates the effect of an oral hygiene programme in a group of 32mentally affected subjects staying in a day home. The investigation lasted two years. The programme was based on repeated instructions and check ups of oral hygiene and the administration of fluoride preparations. Repeatedly the DMF, OHI-S, CPITN indexes were examined. The decline of new caries was almost continuous, already after one year it declinedby 0.43 caries on average and during the subsequent year by 0.3 caries. Myxomas of the Mandible

Odontogenic myxomas of the mandible are rare benign mesenchymic tumors. Itis difficult to remove them completely without having resected the afflicted part of bone. Thatis why these tumors recur frequently. Although these tumors do not metastasize but they change their skiascopic arrangement from demarcated types of tumors to destructive tumors which are arranged in either sliced or honey combed form. Ulcer in the Oral Cavity - Case-repord
