J. Procházková, J. Bártová, I. ©terzl, H. Kučerová

Čes. stomatol. Prakt. zub. lék. (Czech Dental Journal) 1999; 99(3): 81-93

Trace amounts of metals are indispensable for normal function of the organism, excessive amounts have however a toxic effect on the organism or can lead in susceptible subjects to allergization. Increased exposure to metals is caused also by environmental contamination. The objective of the trial was to find out to what extent metals can influence the immune reaction of exposed subjects as compared with subjects without occupational contact with metals. To this end the authors recorded the case-history and subjected to dental examination and by the modified test of blastic transformation for metals - method Melisa™ - eight dentist, seven dental...

A. Fassmann, N. Dvořáková

Čes. stomatol. Prakt. zub. lék. (Czech Dental Journal) 1999; 99(3): 88-93

This article reviews the method of Guided Bone Regeneration. This method was derived from the biological principle of Guided Tissue Regeneration. There is new therapeutic concept for the regeneration of bone defects caused by restriction of the root apex, osteotomy or cystectomy. Other suitable indications occur in periodontology, oral implantology, and incase of alveolar crest astrophy - augmentation. The most suitable biomaterials used in this process are reabsorbable collagen Bio-Gide membranes and natural bone mineral Bio-Oss. This combination of materials has been used by the authors to stimulate the repair of bone defects for several years, and...

L. Himmlová, T. Dostálová, M. Jelínek, Ch. Grivas

Čes. stomatol. Prakt. zub. lék. (Czech Dental Journal) 1999; 99(3): 107-114

The aim of study was to evaluate osseointegration of KrF laser hydroxylapatitecoated titanium alloy Ti6Al14V implants. For deposition a KrF excimer laser in a stainless-steel deposition chamber was used. The thickness of HA films was about 1 mm. Minipigs were usedin this investigation. The implants were placed vertically into the lower jaw. Quality of osseointegration was evaluated histologically by transmitted and fluorescent light. In the control group (titanium implant without cover) fibrous connective tissue was seen between the implant and newly formed bone, in laser-deposited coat a layer of fibrous connective tissue was seen only rarely, thus...
